At this point, the program makes a real departure from those of most historical portrayers. In character as Lincoln, Holgate will take questions from audience members, who assume the role of journalists at a Lincoln press conference. Questions will touch on almost any substantive aspect of Lincoln’s life and presidency.
While working with the Oregon Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, Holgate has appeared throughout the state, earning praise from the Portland Oregonian, Corvallis Gazette-Times, Albany Herald and Vancouver Daily Columbian, among others (see links).

Holgate and his program have also been featured on television (see links). Mike Burton, the chairman of the Oregon Lincoln Bicentennial Commission has said of Holgate’s portrayal “____.” David LeRoy, Chairman of the Governor’s Conference of the national Lincoln Bicentennial Commission has said, “Steve Holgate is the best Lincoln in America.” (For other recommendations, see links.)
For those interested in scheduling the program for their school, club, church or other organization, staging couldn’t be simpler: the program can take place in a standard theater, lecture hall, classroom, or any room that has space for a podium and a few chairs. No special lighting or sound are required.
Performance rates are available upon request.
