What American wouldn’t love to have a conversation with Abraham Lincoln? Praised as “the best Lincoln in America,” Lincoln portrayer Steve Holgate brings Lincoln alive in two different programs suitable for civic groups, schools, retirement homes and in theaters.
Imagine having the chance to ask Abraham Lincoln about his years in the White House and hear him discuss the dark years of the Civil War and the momentous decisions he made. In his two-act play “A. Lincoln” and his shorter press conference-style town hall, Lincoln actor Steve Holgate gives audiences a chance to do just that.
Starting from his remarkable resemblance to our 16th President, Lincoln portrayer Steve Holgate, gives a compelling performance as Abraham Lincoln.

In his town hall program, he delivers a 30-minute opening presentation centering on Lincoln’s presidency, featuring selections from Lincoln’s most famous speeches, including the Gettysburg Address and his Second Inaugural Address, then opens the floor to questions from his audience, which takes on the role of Civil War-era journalists. In his full-evening two-act play, Holgate presents a fuller and more intimate portrait of Lincoln, from his days as a young lawyer, through his early days in politics and the crucible of civil war.
